Beats the snot out of my Russian! ( I think I know 3 words but can't spell them.) I don't really speak English, I speak American. There is a difference; we use a lot of slang/colloquialisms ( like "beats the snot out of" ) that wouldn't be used in London.

Be careful of unexploded ordinance, and welcome to the forum!

VERY interesting (and spooky) excavation. Excellent finds!

Is the site located anywhere near Stalingrad? Was this part of Germany's advance or retreat?

Thanks for sharing? Incredibly intersting and a huge part of the history of WW2.

I see. I may have missed it before if you gave the location but it makes sense now that you explain it.

What an incredible and history-filled area you have to hunt. Please keep posting your finds as I think this is fascinating.

One in Front of my House & one behind? Cheesy

? ?I guess I find your Finds Better, Because I can't Find them Here.

Tell Me ?? In Your Country, Are you allowed to KEEP finds like that tank ?

Over here the Government or someone else would probably confiscate it.

By the way, on that plate, Patterson, New Jersey.

To keep allow -but to get it from a bog many money is necessary - and very often military give money and help to pull out them and then take away these tanks in a museum. this is tank Have given to a tank museum.

Hello Nahabit,
this information is from my partner Greg
the two aircraft makers plates you have shown, i don't know how much you know about aviation but here are a few bits of info for you, the top one is from a wright 2800 engine. this type of engine was fitted to several types of aircraft during WW2
USAF records show that serial 41-25193 was to be alloted to a kittyhawk 1 and was to go to the RAF and was a Kittyhawk 1 (that wouldn't have a 2 row radial but a 12 cylinder inline V twin engine) .?that aircraft was not delivered to the RAF but alot of RAF kittyhawks were sent to Russia. what ever it was it was probably sent to the soviet union as a lend lease aircraft. sorry i can't be of more help with this. what other parts were dug up with this plate? .maybe i will be able to try and identify it.

the second is definitly from a Bell P39 aircobra like this.

hope this is of interest to you.

Greg

Being a former firefighter myself, and seeing his avatar is a Maltese Cross, I would believe it to translate as "Truck 5 Captain" meaning he is a Captain with Truck Company Number 5 out of Charleston, South Carolina.? Home of the HL Hunley, and Forts Sumter and Moultrie.

Fabulous finds and pictures. Thanks very much!  I enjoy collecting WW11 arms and equiptment, the easy way! Your post is a great joy to read. Don't underestimate the tremendous value and envie we have.

Few in the U.S. realize the price Russia has paid for autonomy and freedom. We take very much for granted what they know to be very precious.

The carnage didn't stop after the 'end' of the big one in 1945, did it? Tens of thousands died fighting the German 'insurgency' after peace was declared. Such a freakin shame. There are so many more pits to be dug!

I sincerely hope we remain allies, to say the least!

Battle near Kursk was the greatest tank battle of mankind. 3000 tanks participated in counter battle with both sides. Both contradictory sides aspired to reach the strategic purpose. Fights were characterized by the big persistence and bitterness. Nobody wanted to concede. On a card map the destiny of nazi Germany has been put. Those and other armies sustained huge losses.Museum complex devoted to fight for Kursk

Awesome!  I can't imagine going out with my detector and finding a TANK!  Thank God, we never have had a war on our land that involved tanks and heavy artillery as such and hopefully we never will, but it is so neat to see those pieces of equipment you're finding!  My grandfather fought in WWII and brought back some interesting and repulsing pictures.  What a massive conflict it was, and a scar on humanity as well.

Thank you for showing us your pictures.  I'll be watching for more!

WOW. Those have got to be the greatest finds I have ever seen. I was gonna say that was an Airacobra data plate. Wasnt sure on the cyclone engine tag. That Brewster...wow. Over here in the US, someone would buy that and restore it. The tanks are in very impressive condition. We have a military vehicle museum in my town here, and they would love to work on some of those. Keep up the good work. DM

I'm not sure what all my grandfather participated in.? He was in the army Rangers, and performed recon missions.? He was in nurrenburgh (spelling?) and other places in Germany, and saw the massive body pits that weren't even covered with dirt enough to cover the peoples' arms and legs.?

He didn't like to talk about it, and I never heard his stories.? It wasn't until after he died that I found out he was in recon, and that he was highly decorated with some of the highest awards and medals you can get from our government.? I wish I could have heard his stories, but I understand how difficult it must have been to talk about for him.? Especially after seeing his journal and the pictures contained within.? They don't show pictures like that in history class.? People should see what happened, lest they forget and allow history to repeat itself.

Did you know they used skin from the Jew's bodies to make lampshades, wallets, and wallhangings?  Especially if they had tattoos.  And then they would set this stuff up on tables and people who appeared to be everyday families would walk past the tables shopping for the piece they liked.  Twisted, huh?  ("twisted" referring to a largely distorted mentality , in case you're not familiar with the term).

Thanks for the respect for my Grandfather.

CHEESE, i think you may be mistaken on the skin items. I'm no expert, but i think it was one woman (ilsa Koch) who was known for the tattooed skin items. not an organized project. As I recall she would single out people with tattoos, and not just jews, to make the different items, which she kept for her own collection. I believe she was known as "the witch of Buchenwald". The lampshade itself has never been found (and most likely an exaggeration) but there are many other items made from human skin from Buchenwald. (some can be found on display in Washington DC)

I saw it in black and white.  I think my grandfather took the pics because he couldn't believe what he was seeing.  Anyway, that's way off track.  Sorry I added the "weird" to the thread, lol.  It just made such an impression on me I guess, that whenever I think of WWII, those are the images that immediately pop in my head.

Your pictures really tell a story that I did not know. If you are still finding these bodies, I would imagine that there must be thousands that have not been buried yet. Does the goverment look for these sites like you have, and bury the dead?

Don't feel too bad about that Spike,
I wouldn't have known either.

At me many photos with finds and excavation have accumulated, but I do not know what to place at a forum? Whether ethically to expose photos on which bones and skulls are visible?
I can send you the children's textbook on a history:)Smiley

How is that in Russia that it is illegal to have gun and a person can get up to 10 yrs minumum in prison for having one, and here it is that its ok to dig one up and pose with it.  I am not sure on all the laws, but I have contacted a russian law firm to check out all the laws.  I think its ok to dig up the tanks or stuff but it is very disrespectful to descecrate anybody's grave no matter who they are.  Imagine the families who grave's you are doing that to.

I take it ethically in your country, you are not doing anything
Wrong, by posting Bones & Skulls. and this is a World Wide Forum.

I Don't see anything wrong
  Either.

However, Please Understand, There are MANY in the U.S.
Who Do for some reason, get upset when they see them here.

I Will Try my Best, To see that Everyone here Gives you Respect,

nahabit, No need to send children's book. Cheesy But you are funny. Most Americans know about the Russian Front and the history of World War II. All we have to do is watch television. We have here many history channels.
My Grandparents on my Mothers side were from Lithuania and I still have relatives over there.
My Dad fought in the Anzio invasion of Fascist Italy.

These are great pictures and I have enjoyed them.

The Russian front was the eastern front.

The western front was Europe.

So what did the Russians call the Eastern Front because it was geographically to their West until they declared war on Japan and attacked them in Manchuria (which would have then been their Eastern Front and for the Japanese their Western Front.)  Wink Grin Wink

Nahabit some pretty interesting war relics you have discovered. I have not seen any monies displayed in your pictures though. Do you often find any Russian or German coins with the skeletal remains you find, and if so whats the greatest coin/paper? amount you have found.

Yes Т34 the Soviet tank but them sometimes captured in working order and they appeared in armed forces of Germany, that is it is the Russian tank seized by Germans which they used in the purposes. In the rest you are absolutely right.

For the sake of trying to be humble, please let this be the end of this nonsense.

IN REFERENCE TO THE POSSIBLE GARRETT DD SEARCHCOIL.

Nahabit responded to my PM, part of his reply follows:

"I once dug it with guys which have been well equipped, but it not my friends and not my device it was only a common cause"

It was not his and he cannot identify it.
