Hiya ALL, Went out today to the new beach i found, the one with the war time concrete bunker, and have found that there are at least another 4 bunkers around this small bit of cost line. So i'll be getting to hunt those areas in the near future. At the moment i have covered about 1/4 of this new beach and the finds just keep on coming up. Today i found a few more Euro coins, which brings me up to just over ?40 or nearly $49 U.S. Now bear in mind i've only had my MD for about 6 weeks, i think i must just be very lucky.!! I also found Yet ANOTHER SILVER ring too. This one has 5 Diamonds in it but they are not REAL Diamonds as while is was cleaning it up, one of them fell out but thankfully i didn't loose it. So i'll pop it back in. By the way, if anyone can help me to I.D. the hallmark in this ring, i would be grateful. I know the 925 mark is Silver but the SIX, I have no idea about. There was another little silver coloured toe ring too, but that one is just nice to keep, No value to it. I also found an American 5 cent coin, ( a Nickel ). I Haven't a clue how that one got all the way over here. ? i guess from a holiday maker or it could be from one of the rich and famous Actors that visit our little island. I have heard that Sharron Stone is due to be having a holiday over here next month, so i hope she brings more than just a nickel with her.!!! hehehe Have added some B4 and after photos of the things i found from after my cleaning session with them. Hope you like the photos and i'll be going back to the beach again tommorow, so will keep you posted of any new finds. Anyway Thanks for reading this post and all the very best of luck to you all and happy hunting too. All the best, Ray. P.S. The other photos & Ring photos are next. I'm guessing that the NEW server isn't up and running yet as i'm having problems uploading the photos.

Hiya guys & Gals, Thanks for the congrats and encouragements. I have a secret formula for cleaning my coins.!!!!!!! But if you promise not to tell anyone i'll let you in on the secret. It works REALLY well.!!!!!! INGREDIENTS: 1 Tablespoon of Table salt, ( Fully leaded not LOW Salt ) Enough DISTILLED white vinegar to cover the coins well, A PLASTIC Scouring pad, NOT a metal one. ( The sort you use to wash the dishes i.e. a Brillo Pad ) & a bit of ELBOW grease. TECHNIQUE: Place Salt and Vinegar into an old Glass or plastic shallow bowl or pot. Make sure the salt is totally disolved by stiring well. Place coins or jewlery in the solution for around 1-2 hours. ( Some items might not need as much time & others may need a bit longer, but DON'T over do it. ) Check the items and give a little scrub every 15 minutes or so with the Brillo pad. The coins will have a dull finnish to them but that goes when you scrub. Put items back into the solution until all the crud is gone then scrub & rinse well with fresh running hot or warm water and then Dry. and HEY PRESTO.!! you have nice clean coins or jewlery. NOTICE.!! VERY IMPORTANT.!!If you have a coin or piece of jewlery that you know or think is Valuable, Then DO NOT use this method. You may take away alot of the value. Yeah Yeah.!!! i know this technique is no secret but it got you READING eh. hehehehe Anyway Y'all, Have fun and i hope you all have lots and lots of great finds, and i also hope this technique and secret formula, HA HA, Brings your finds up nice and shiny.!! Anyway, All the very best of luck to you all and happy hunting too. Ray.

Excellent work, Ray. I am surprised you can clean those coins so good. I used some polish, in the beginning (now I don't clean them anymore, just spent them like they are and people accept them). But mine turned out to be a bit "reddish", they had like a red shine on them. Yours are much better.
Thank you for learning & showing that to us !

Hey all, The problem is the salt and plastic pad both can be very abrasive. Even if the salt seems to be completely dissolved it will still scratch your items. If the pad is abrasive that it scratches your finger nail it will scratch your coins. look at the scratches on the jewelry and coin. I am sorry but you should not clean anything valuable this way. Liquid soaks are best in a non-abrasive liquid i.e not tarn-X that will take off a layer of metal. Try using Rubbing Alcohol, WD-40 or Electrolysis. Keep @ it and HH!!
