I have a CZ-20 and do most of my detecting looking for civil war relics. I admit the CZ does fine with iron objects, which is perfect for this kind of hunting. I've done some beach hunting with it and the factory suggeted settings for coins is excellent. I haven't found much jewlery though. I'm not so sure if it is the machine or my technique. The three tone Id system is simple to learn although I am still learning the fine variations in combinations of tones and volume that only experience can teach. My friend has an excal. Being a former owner of an old Whites machine he complains about the complex signals. I say he just needs to have more experience.
