Hi George

My comments on masking should have been made more clear. When I hunt I hunt in Disc. and when the detector nulls I move on. If I was to dig all the signals that nulled I really should switch to a PI machine and have the advantage of the added depth. As I said neither machine can see a gold ring on a steel plate I also mentioned that I have gotten signals through nulls and have gotten targets that way.If a ring is sitting in the middle of a pile of scrap iron I have always assummed that the iron would null my machine and I would never see the ring. I could hunt in all metal all the time and dig everything and find the ring with the pile of scrap iron but I don't hunt that way. I really should have read your note more carefully as you asked for opinions from people that use both and as I stated at I only use the Excal.Sorry for the unwanted information and opinion Good luck and HH Sir Larry
