Places to hunt - May/June

Hi,

I have a few months off work in May/June and am looking for some where to go metal detecting. I live in CA, but depending on reports I'm willing to travel just about anywhere. I know spots are 'secret' but are there any places you folks would recommend for some good fun detecting? It doesn't have to be surf hunting, lake hunting would be fine too. Any recommendations would be helpful, either in private mail or posted here.

I'm thinking about the Miami area, as well as maybe around NC somewhere too?
