I have both and a Barracuda PI and like all three. But I find myself reaching for the CZ 20 most of the time. Not all CZ's are created Equal!!! If you go with a CZ then go to a big shop and test each one until you find one that will give you a nice loud steady tone in auto tune mode at full sensitivity and volume at 8 or higher. If you don't find one that can do this walk away. It will not find small gold!!!. I know of five CZ 20"s and mine is the only one that does this and it is a hot machine. In auto tune with a 8" coil if I get within 5" to the side of an object it will vary the tone. Then I slow down and go over it and zero in.Then flip the disc. knob with your thumb to "0" and listen for anything but a bonk which is iron. The CZ is by far the better built machine and I beleive they have a lifetime warranty. The ecal and Cz are about the same price and are both respected beach units.I don't think you will find a CZ that will make the steady tone in the 10.5" model. I put a 10.5 on mine and it wobbled and false toned in the surf.I put the 8" back on the next day. Hope this helps I found over a hundred gold rings last year with the CZ and some nice little ones with little white rocks. Kurt
