Can you spend a barnacle-encrusted coin???

April 03, 2000 at 10:27:11

Situation: Went to beach. Found clad coins.

Problem: Half have unpenetrable barnacles on them, other half have weird bright green something or other on them. About the consistency of 200 grit sandpaper.

Goal: To remove said growths from coins.

Finds: All solvents from vinegar to bleach to baking soda have proved fruitless.

Solution: Don't have one, hoping you do.
