When I talked to Mr. Parks, I mentioned the dead batteries and he said they'd send it back with a new set of batteries this time.
I agree with you regarding Fisher's excellent customer support. Even when this unit blew the second time and I was not even a "happy camper", they extened the extra effort that is rare these days with too many manufacturing firms. Many outfits will even point the finger at you and say it's your fault. Fisher did mention something about the fact that the unit had a lot of scratches. They didn't pursue that line after I explained that I was using the thing around dirt rather than my living room floor.
As I mentioned in the update above, I don't know whether or not only a small percentage of the 7As shipped with bad chips or if it is true with all of them. I've never heard of recurrent problems from other CZ-7A owners at this forum of any other forums including Fishers.
