I have become less and less interested in target I D except to I D iron, gold and silver. My machines have gotten simpler with each purchace.

My priorities are now performance, weight and compactability.

First was a Whites silver eagle. I think target I D really helps you learn the catagories of metals in the order to which they fall and it's good when hunting a manicured lawn where you must limit your damage.

Second was the cz20 with 3 tone I D and knobs for quicker, simpler adjustments. Hip mounting helped to make it a little lighter.

Now I just recieved my new Shadow today. It's so light I can lift it easily with my pinky and it all fits into a small daypack.

So now I've got an I D machine for house yards, a great salt water detector and an ultralight relic hunting detector.

Considering the types of places I usually hunt, if it isn't a rusty nail it just might be something really good.
