I live in WA. and the 6000 handles our ground with ease. The hot rock accept/ reject mode when set to reject makes it possible to ignore the abundant hot rocks we have here and when hunting old parks or lawns you can gain additional depth buy putting it to accept and watching the meter. Hot rocks will always peg hard right and will disappear in pinpoint or all metal. It's worked well for me for many years.
