Probably anything that cuts the power off momentarily will give the CZ a case of amnesia, and reset the settings. In my case, according to Fisher, it's most likely an internal relay, rather than the switch itself. I first noticed the problem right after I'd gotten caught out in a rainstorm, so water leaking in may have caused the problem. Since you say you hunt beaches, you may have picked up a bit of water in the works as well. It took me a couple of weeks to figure out exactly when it was resetting, particularly since the fault is intermittent. Intermittent enough that I've decided that, by going easy on using the pinpoint, I can live with the problem for the time being.
