it can handle a lot of my relic hunting applications quite well, and is a good coin hunter, too. However, narrowing it down to the two models you mentioned, I have to say that the new White's 6000 Pro XL is by far the better dual purpose unit.
Matter of fact, I'll go so far as to say that 6000 Pro XL is the most welcomed new detector to come my way in a long, long time!
Easy to use.
Full operator control, with instant adjustment.
All metals search mode in both the traditional All Metal *AND* Discriminate mode if dsired.
Well proven and excellent Target ID.
Broad-application versatility.
Both detectors mentioned have their place, but for a one-detector selection for coin and relic hunting, the 6000 Pro XL is perhaps the best way to go. The Bandido II MicroMax might have a bit of an edge in small iron trashy sites, but then the Bandido II MM will have less 'advantage' in other sites. Best to get two different detectors to compliment each other, and start out with the one that would be the most versatile.
