Frustrated!!!
September 03, 2000 at 06:08:27

Hi,,

I use a Discovery 3000 (Bounty Hunter sharp shooter II), I went out MD'ing today and I thought I would start around the trees at the side of the long sweeping avenue, within minutes of starting, the detector found something, I was getting a good steady tone at the base of a big old tree, I shifted the leaves to find a BIG stone (about 2 feet in size) buried in the ground and this is where the signal was coming from, I started to get excited, big stone buried at the base of a big old tree, must be a hoard or something under here, I spent well over an hour trying to extract this stone from the ground, the tree roots were holding it in place, I finally got the stone out, shoved the detector in the hole, NOTHING, ZERO, so I moved the detector over the stone and I got the signal again, it looks like it was the stone but why would a big stone give off a good signal??

Simon.
