Maybe our Texas soil is more conductive than in Belgium, Jim, 'cause I agree with dirtdauber in Big D.I've been hunting San Antonio ground in all kinds of situations from drought to flood for 25 years and I see very little difference in depth capability. It was 109 here yesterday and we haven't had rain in two months, but even in non-irrigated areas I'm only suffering a depth loss of about half an inch compared to the wet season. The real problem is recovery. Digging a find out of 5" of baked clay in 100+ weather can ruin a guy's day - and his shoulder!
