Beginer?? No minelab for you. It would be like a young man trying to fly the latest fastest fighter.Start with the basics, maybe an used unit. Many do not have the staying power for this hobby. Sounds simple but there will be hours where the stuff you dig will not be called TREASURE. If and when you are sure of yourself get a basic unit and learn the basics, swing patterns, speed etc. Sounds and shape of the sound, etc. Hey good luck, you may have what it takes. Remember too M.D. have been out and quite popular for 30 yrs, many are in the pawn shops and/or in the closet. Unless you live in an unusal place there will not be too much left to find. I know, have been chasing the coil for over 25 yrs.
