You might want to consider any of the CZ's,the CZ-7a is a good choice. It is deep, rain proof, easy to setup and has 80-90 hours on 12 AA's, and I also believe it has a lifetime warranty now. Travels well, there is a hard case available, can store two coils, headphones and a digger. It can be stowed in overhead bins on airliners, or under the seat but only if you aren't seated on the first row in first class or in coach :).

The CZ-7a Pro is basically the same, but it has a shorter battery life and is chest or hipmountable. Haven't used one, only familiar with the 7a.
