First and foremost gemstone themselves will not be picked up by metal detector.....Can see you would need a waterproof machine..That really cuts down your choices...Go to your detector outlet and try them all on for size in this category...Read all you can on every particuliar one and do ask the dealer what his preferences are. Do go to a muti line dealer as your choices will be varied and will have better chance of success finding what you want....
