use a fisher cz20 and the 1280x for the water. Good to 250ft and have a lifetime warentee. I Love the 1280 as I have made thousands of finds with it. Many gold and silver rings. I mainly hunt in fresh water. Those fisher water machines are as tough as they get.

On land I use a Shadow and an xlt. Both good machines. Problem with the Fishers is the fact that they are pretty heavy, after a while on land.

What I would suggest, since price doesn't scare you is to get a 1280x for the water and a Shadow for the land. You can get both, new for under a thousand dollars. Then you have it covered.

You could even get a CZ20, which is recomended for the salt areas and the Shadow for around a grand. Maybe a little more.
