What was your first impression when you seen some one detecting or read about it in some magazines?? When I first seen some magazine with the words "FIND TREASURE" and a person with a metal detector with what look like a treasure chest under ground, I thought "oh sure like there are treasure chest all over under ground to be found", I thought there will be some sucker that will buy them. When I heard my dad was detecting back in 1973 I though all great he is making a fool of himself running around with a detector looking for burried treasure chest. Now after I seen the older coins and some of the nice rings he was finding I became interested and got myself hooked into this great hobby in 1974. I wonder how many people see me detecting and think there is one of those people that think they are going to find those treasure chest we seen in those magazines, WHAT A SUCKER!! if they only knew what can be found I am sure many would also be doing this.
