Hi, Rick!

As a soon-to-be-first-time-detector-owner (wink), I know that my first impression was formed many moons ago when I was but a child. (I'm an ancient 28 years old now.) I was a voracious reader, and vaguely remember magazines and comic books that had ads for metal detectors on the back cover. I was always interested, but it took going out with my brother-in-law on a couple of brief trips around the yard last summer to really get me craving my own "rig". Now, I've won one off of eBay (hi again, seller Rick!) and I can't wait for the snow to melt a bit so I can get hunting. I do have to say that walking around in the middle-class neighborhood of Maple Grove with my brother-in-law, each swinging a detector, I felt like quite a geek. But we found a 1902 penny, and that made it quite worthwhile! I was as excited as a little kid, even if the penny was only worth a quarter or so. :)
