I just bought an almost new sovereign, with meter and a few small extras for $415, most are around $450. I have seen xlt's for as low as $510, most are around $600. When you have learned to adjust and understand them , where they are effective, and the best coil for your application - both seem to have as many fans and be as well liked as the new White's (DFX) and Minelabs (explorer). NEITHER - are by any means obsolete.
