Yep, thats right Tassie is an island state with some of the most beautiful scenery that you will ever see. The areas that are the best for detecting are extreme and very remote. The largest nugget (gold) was found at a place called the Rocky River and this is in the westen half. I have only made one trip and it is very steep country with bush that thick that a dog couldn't wag his tail. Also winter access is very difficult even with my little suzuki 4wd and the weather can make it to dangerous. I am on the n/w coast and today have just been out detecting and have found some metal nuggets but dont know what they are? They are silver in appearance and hard and are not to heavy for there size (1-40mm*15mm*3mm thick/ 2-20mm*15mm*5to10mm thick). Any advice appreciated.
