There is one other machine you did no include in the mix that is my favorite for what you want to do. The biggie you get with the 1500 is sizing, but you only get that feature using thier large coils. So many times in junk infested areas a smaller coil is a must, and sizing is still an important feature. White's builds a lesser known machine called the QXT Pro that is a real sleeper. It is the only machine in the world that sizes targets on the fly, You have to stop and pinpoint them with the 1500, and it does it with any size coil you want to use. It has all the power of the XLT, both are four filtered pro machines, but the XLT does not have the Histograph sizing feature. I also much prefer the audio ID system on the QXT over the XLT or the 1500. Basically it's like the Belltone feature on the 1500 except you can set it for any and all the zones you choose.

There are ten times as many owners of the XLT, so you will get a lot of info from them, and it is a fine machine, but for what you want to do with the machine, I would rather be using the QXT, and it's $250 lower in price.
