First don't believe all you read in magazines or for that matter all you read in forums...However have heard of excellent results on saltwaters beaches..
Never owned one, but nice design and no heavier than the
10 inch. Why you would want to go any deeper is beyond me as I have gotten 12-15 inch quarters on NJ beaches with the solid 8 inch coil from older sov's. Of course your coverage would be super and of really a ballpark
pinpoint is all you need for beaches....
