Could be your ground condtions and if you used a Tesoro with no ground balance is why you got no depth. Have you tried a whites in this same ground?? With the new Cortes that has a preset ground balance I got a small piece of wire that was 8 inches down, a 1/4 inch brass nut that was 6 inches down, so i know mine has depth in my area. Just havent found any deep coins yet in this area I used my Sovereign and Explorer in, but got a few at 5 inches I missed. The guy I mention in Ohio has just got his 3rd gold ring and his first seated dime in the last 2 weeks with his Tesoro Cortes and in the same area he has been using his XLT for over a year and missed them. Dont know if it was the depth or just the Tesoro is better in trashy areas for seperating the signals. No detector is best in all areas as some are better in one area while others in another area.
