Those tractor drawn rakes comb for the larger trash are and more tolerant of MDers.......although they do tend to drive coins/jewelry deeper and so call for use of a deep-seeking detector.
The self-contained BEACH QUEEN and BEACH KING machines can screen out pulltabs and dimes and yes, they do go through the pickings. The finds are pooled and split with the crew.
The operation is funded by beach parking and entry fees.
