Paul,My favorite place to hunt in my town are vacant lots where houses once stood.Many of the vacant lots in my town are city property so I am free to hunt there.Do not tresspass but get permission first if the lot is privately owned. But I have found many old coins and relics in these places and although you should always fill your holes you do not need to be quite so carefull when digging in a vacant lot.You will learn that you can make good finds with whatever machine you use if you are patient,learn your machine and hunt in places that others may have passed by.
