I would just like to mention,that the factory preset "coin" program of the XLT is extremely reliable in my area,because it uses high discrimination for coins only.I have more trouble with chopped aluminum and foil wads,than I do with rusty iron.The only changes I make to the coin program is to raise the sensitivity to 74-76 and reduce recovery speed down to 10-12.I find it reduces surface masking on small alum.and foil,and gets the signal down to where the coins are!I ignore shallow signals,and dig anything 3" or more.
