Hey Chet,

Thanks for the advice... I have used a Whites 6000 Di Series 3 for 15 years and I am not used to the Fisher..

I recently purchased a home built in 1756... It was originally a home, then used as a meeting place, stage coach stop, and even as a tavern... My hope is that the place is loaded with stuff, including a ton of junk. So far, other than current coinage, I have found an 1802 large cent, and a broach with a yellow-brown stone in it. No other older coins, but I now they are there... One problem right now is that the ground is bone dry, which doesn't help.

Any advice on how to ground balance the Fisher would be great.... Where are you located?

Thanks again,

Steve
