Have to agree the person that wrote the section relative ground balancing is either an experienced detectorist or an Tech. at Fishers who do not take into consideration many are new at this type of ground balancing...Read the manual over several times relative the push button method, once you get that down path practice the bobbing method which is more efficient..Surely a properly ground balanced unit adds inches and stability to your unit. Preset is just to get you started with a little experimenting it will be a snap. I hunt with a fellow with an XLT and I ground balance as fast as he does, so indeed it is not hard with practice...
