Evidently a couple of you Albuquerque folks have decided you’d rather steal a fat heifer than accept the healthy bull calf which was freely offered. You’ve traced my position, either by using the BLM records of my filed claims, or by locating the place where the bodies of Gary and Judy Brown were found. Your shiny late-model green Chevi or GMC pickup with Bernalillo County tags was a welcome sight on that mountain Memorial Day weekend, and watching you move around down there with your walkie talkies and other gear warmed my heart, knowing you were being prudent, at least. All those tracks you were looking at were mine, and those of my lady friend.
You obviously prefer to work on your own, hitching a ride on the work I’ve already done. I have no problem with this, even given the email information I’ve handed out to Albuquerque folks, some of which was probably requested under false pretenses. If you believe, even with your 4 wheeler, you can do quickly what it has taken me several years to accomplish on foot, I’ll enjoy watching you a while.
However, in view of the fact you have taken this oblique approach to the venture, I’ve made a decision to add a bit of zest to your lives. You need to move swiftly, amigos.
During June I will be spending a couple of weeks on the mountain. Some of it will be with long-time partners. Old guys like myself. And some of it I will spend alone. When that’s done, I think I’ll have had a bellyfull of that mountain for a while.
Contrary as I tend to be, though, I’d hate to see the results of all my work go to folks who try to play the game so cagy, snatching the whole range of possibilities for themselves.
So, here’s the deal:
The offer is still open to you for the limited partnership. If I hear from you before I’m ready to move my interests elsewhere, I’ll keep things as they are. Or, if I have others signed on the limited partnership deal. Otherwise, If I
