Steve, great post.

I found the exact ad that Viper was referring to. As usual in this kind of thing, the ad was incorrectly quoted. It reads as follows...

"In highly mineralized ground where other detectors have difficulty even operating, the SD 2100 will find match-head sized nuggets several inches deep, and larger nuggets at depths of 3 feet or more!"

That came from the Minelab catalog that had 2 hunters on the front showing their finds on the beach...
