dredge science

I'm about to modify my dredge, 2 1/2 Keene, 3hp Briggs. Its getting old and tired. Is there a source of knowledge concerning volume vs pressure, angle and spacing of riffles, and as always efficiency of different mats. We all have opinions, but is there any test data available?? Thanx Bruce
