A question for AL (AZ), Viper, and others.....

June 04, 1998 at 16:31:31

I read your guys posts concerning using pulse induction machines for nugget hunting and had a couple of questions.

1. With the obvious advantage being their ability to ignore ground mineralization, what would a P.I. machine's DISADVANTAGES be in nugget hunting ?

2. How would a P.I. machines sensitivity compare to Tesoro, Whites, Fishers, and Minelab gold machines on smaller nuggets ?

If you were hunting in a "dig-it-all" situation anyway, with no need for discrimination circuitry, what kind of performance could you expect with a P.I. machine ? It seems, in theory, to be an ideal machine for extreme ground conditions, but you just don't hear of their use for nugget hunting very often. I never really had given it much thought until I read your posts, but suspect there are some disadvantages hidden somewhere.

Thanks for any info. or opinions you can give.

Ralph
