G'day Viper

Lots of good points there. I've used the 18" coil a few times but it's a bit too noisy on a lot of the ground I work and awkward, like you say. But it has proven its worth, as I mentioned in a previous post when a mate got a faint signal that ended up being a 38 gram nugget at 12" that I couldn't pick up with the 11" DD coil. I always take it with me in case I come across some ground it can handle containing deep nuggets. In some areas where I expect the gold will be really small I use the 8" coil for searching for new virgin patches but usually use the 11" DD because of its wider area of sensitivity, meaning I get to check out more ground in a given amount of time.

It sure would be good if we could link up while you're in Coolgardie. I'd love to get together for a yarn, as well as see the Fishers 8X and the Tesoro LST in action. I don't know how tight your schedule is but I know a perfect spot to try them out (noisy as buggery in places but not too bad in others) which is not all that far from Coolgardie, where we'd also have a good chance of finding at least a few small nuggets and maybe something bigger.

Many thanks for the PI info you emailed.

Regards

Steve
