Richard,

I had an RC1 and it was a piece of junk! The original blade that was sent with the unit was out of balance and the motor self destructed due to the vibration!! After only twenty hours of use, I gave it to my son to tear apart so that he'd know how a motor works.... It's true that Keene makes the most complete line of mining equipment available for the hobbiest but they certainly don't pay attention to detail during the ordering process and the quality of some of their stuff leaves a lot to be desired -- and if you complain about it, they treat you like a moron. For example, I ordered "a trailer mounted RC 46" and I received a skid mounted RC 46. Their excuse was that I should have ordered an RCT 46 and that they didn't read the words "trailer mounted" in the same sentence!! They only sent me a partial refund of the difference in price between the two units because "the freight charge was higher than they expected". Needless to say, I was pretty hot!!

I wish there was another manufacturer of small scale mining equipment. Pyramid Industries makes some good quality rock crushers for the small scale miner. You can find their phone number in just about any issue of International California Mining Journal.

Good luck!

Eric
