Hi Steve

I tried it one night but it did not work out for me. I guess I did it for the same reason, to hot in the day time. A few times I had to build a smokey fire in the day time to keep the bees away. Also had to hide any sign of water or they were all over the place searching. Left the cooler part way open once and there must have been several hundred that were on it getting water from it. It took them about 15 minutes to call out the troops. This past trip I had bug spray for them and it helped.

At night I had too many moths flying a round me at night and I did not care for that. I did it on a dark moon. I think from the many nights I stayed in the desert that on a full moon they are not to bad. I have worked after dark many times for an hour or so and it is OK. I used my Coleman lantern sitting on the ground and a flash light to move a round with. Also turned on the jeep lights but all that is only good for digging...I leave my equipment set up round the clock. Not much help but give it a try and have fun. I am told the big ones bite best at night....hee, hee :-)...Richard
