Hi Viper, Ralph and others
Interested to read your posts re P.I. and SD2100. My experience in designing P.I.'s is that they do not respond in any great degree to conductive mineralisation but do repond strongly to magnetic minerals. I have a large box of red gravel from Australia and this gives a very strong signal. It is possible with additional circuitry to tune this out and detect a 1 gm nugget buried in it. P.I.'s can be made much more sensitive to small nuggets. I am about to test one that can detect 0.2gms at 4 inches but it may be that we then have problems with ground conductivity. What size nugget did you test on the Pulse 8X? Not familiar with alkali ground; can you enlighten me? I presume it's conductive like salt.
Eric.
