Richard, I am ,definitely, interested in the Lost Cabin having lived at 7,200 feet just outside Cloud Peak wilderness. Father De Smet, supposedly, knew the existence of gold there, but I never saw Bridger associated with it. Interesting! That explains why some stories mention the Wind Rivers. Also, the South Pass City distance reference is a new twist. I thought the traffic came from Ft. Laramie or Virginia City. We gave up on a big search when the Forest Service closed the area to mineral entry. I always considered the possibility that, if ,it existed there were other sites including private land. We need to talk more on this subject! rhodium
