Hi Rick,

We all started by finding a few flakes and with patience, practice and a little luck(grin) you will be finding nuggets also. Gold can travel very far and unless the gold is extremely coarse (not traveled far) then locating the source is almost impossible. As gold travels it becomes smooth due to errosion processes. I would always look and sample the dry/wet streams that come out of the mountains first(if you are trying to get to the source). Even then their is no Guarantees, but it will increase the odds of finding the coarse gold. Hope ya find it!
