Hi Carter,

Nice going, getting some nuggets on your first try. I too like to bring back buckets of dirt home to work in the carport...I built a recirculating highbanker out of an old ice chest and square laundry buckets. I have a two-layered sluice box suspended over 3 separation tanks built into the ice chest. I use an evap cooler pump to recirculate the water to prevent flooding my carport, works great. I also have a couple of cheap 12 vdc bilge pumps I just tested for use in the field, works even better than the 120 vac pump.

After running my dirt through the sluice, I use a 4 ft pc of 3" corregated plastic sewer pipe, cut in half, to work the concentrates. These are known as poop-shoots, or henry-henry's. You can find plans for these and others at www.dnai.com. They work great, and cost only a buck or two to make.

Good Luck!
