Good story. I remember reading a story in an old G&TH mag about a Doug Stone expedition in Victoria where they found a 15 ounce nugget (from memory) along with a number of other good ones. Doug sounds like he gives his safari customers value for money. Good luck to him.

I'm a semi-professional prospector working in WA. Have you seen Sam Cash's book titled "Loaming for Gold"? It was written during the 1930s and the language is a bit archaic but there's some good pointers in it for pinpointing the exact spot to dig for a reef depending on the number and type of colours in the pan from loaming.
