One of the best methods to use in concentrating down those concentrates is to use a Microsluice. They will recover gold so fine they will stay in suspension in water. You can concentrate down a 5 gal. bucket of cons into no more than a half cup ful, and then to do the final separation you can amalgamate, which is not as dangerous as most people think if you do it correctly.
