Big C, Okla does have some gold, The Wichita Mountains , back in 1901, july 4 under President McKinley opened up 13,000 quater sections to homsteaders The townships of Lawton, Anadarko and Hobart were laid out in preparation for the land Lottery, a nugget was reportedly found worth $273.00 @ $ 20 a ounce, prospectors swarmed the area , 35 miles northwest of Lawton in comanche county over 2,000 claims were staked .,, the gold was good , but by 1910 , the Wichita Hills Gold rush was died out , placer gold is still fouund in Otter Creek, Tillman and jackson counties , the north fork of the Red river, Greer and Jackson Counties, Middle Otter creek, 4 miles southeast of Roosevelt, Kiowa County, this is from the GPAA claims Guide 1998 book , good luck to you from a fellow OKIE, now in Calif.........
