Off detecting with the fairies (true story!)

Seeing Jim's story below (zip-zip) made me remember a story I heard a few years ago. This is a true story, and as the saying goes, truth is stranger than fiction. Sometimes it's so strange it's off the planet with the little green men.
A husband and wife hired a detector for a few days and listened intently to the instructions given by the guy in the prospecting shop on how to balance it, etc. When they returned it to the shop, they were asked if they'd had any success with it. The wife replied, "We think we might have done alright, because we passed over some big signals, but we didn't recall you telling us how to open up the box, so could you please show us now so that we can get the nuggets out?"
