Hi Steve! I built a waterproof gold detector 10 years ago and called it the water bug. (good to 200'deep)I used a Fisher Gold Bug for the electronics and placed them in a 1280x aquanaut detector housing and used the underwater headphones for the 1280x also. I used a six pack of AA batteries for power, they last longer than a 9v. I also had to modify the controls but it was fully adjustable under water. It had a on/off switch with threshold adjust, ground balance adjust, and sensitivity control with battery test. It worked great. I'm not sure where it is today, as I sold it to a friend of mine to use it in the mother lode country of California.
