It is my understanding that Minelab classifies their 2100 coils(talkig 2100, because I have never used an 18000)as water resistant--not waterproof. So, I would imagine that if the coil was ruined by water damage, Minelab would be off the hook. It also makes you think that if they were confident they were waterproof, and would back that notion up, they'd come right out and say so. It anyone knows differently, I'd like to know as well.
