poisonous critters in the western australian out back

inevitably when asking about the australian outback, people ask me about the poisonous snakes.
well they have ,i believe 169 different varieties. however there are only twelve in the area of W.A. that we venture into. only four are concsidered deadly, the death adder, the mulga, the spotted mulga, and the king brown. all are concsidered timid with maybe the exception of the king brown.
however all brown snakes should be avoided, and all should be left alone. if left on there own they will quickly slither away.
there are other critters to be on the watch for and they are the red back spider, hides in the same places as our black widow. then they have scorpions, and centipedes. in my 9 years of taking tours there i have only seen one king brown, two death adders, and two dugites. dugites have small mouthes and unless you are handleing them they are not dangerous. i was stung by a 1 inch long white centipede last year, but i guess that it was not deadly.
shucks, there are 17 different varieties of rattle snake in arizona. when i worked on a ranch in miami between 1976 to 1984, it was nothing to see 25 to 35 rattlers on both spring and fall roundup. we ate all of them.
however, i do want to mention one poisonous critter in australia, that you should definately be on the lookout for and that is the killer butterfly----hoss
