300 hours in the goldfields

February 01, 1999 at 08:54:51

Questions often asked of veteran prospectors by "newbies" are "How much time have you spent prospecting" and, "How many nuggets have you found?" According to my logbook, the other day I spent my 300th hour detecting in the goldfields. During that time I have recovered a total of 667 nuggets or chunks of "highgrade" quartz. (And untold thousands of birdshot!) How about yourself? Would other readers of this forum like to post their statistics? Happy nugget shooting! Jim
