Thanks Doc! Chris and I both found it though, not just me! We got 7 patches in a totally virgin area overlooked by the oldtimers, and the photo shows the gold from the best patch. We got 33 oz off that patch, most of it in the first 2 days. It was a dream patch - concentrated, with heavy gold. One of the other patches was a buried reef, with the gold in thin leaves that I twisted and smashed off it, but it cut out at 55 grams. Another patch was near one spot we camped at - some nice pieces up to 2 oz but mostly very scattered with the occasional cluster. I'll never forget one morning after I'd been working late, Chris started swinging at 5am and found 5oz before breakfast an hour later in a small cluster a stone's throw from the campervan. The patches were spread out over a few miles length. But as with all patches, they ran out all too soon, so the eternal search continues!

Steve.
